Today, during the press conference at the Qazaqstan sports complex, journalists asked foreign athletes about their feelings from the weather in Astana. Noteworthy, on the morning of January 24, the temprature in the capital dropped to -32 degrees Celcius, and in combination with an icy wind, it is quite a test.
"I am from Philadelphia and I was already in Kazakhstan last year, but it was not so cold then, now I am very cold," said runner Nia Ali.
André de Grasse is a native Canadian. He noted that it can also be cold in his homeland, but the air temperature never drops below 20 degrees, so he agreed with Nia Ali on the issue of "freezing". But the strongest impression of the Kazakh frosts was made on the Jamaican athlete Keshan Thompson, who visited this winter for the first time.
"This is my first time experience, to see so much snow and feel such cold. It was, of course, interesting, but I was very, very cold.
At the same time, the guests of the competition noted that the warm atmosphere that reigns in the arena can warm even in such severe frosts.
