This was repeatedly discussed today during a press conference on the eve of the Astana Indoor meet for Amin Tuyakov prizes. According to Olga Rypakova, Chairman of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we made a name for ourselves during the Asian Championships in 2023. The international sports community highly appreciated the Qazaqstan sports complex, the work and qualifications of Kazakhstani judges, and the level of training.
- The sports complex meets the standards of the world's largest competitions, including the World Championship. They see a huge potential in us, and we will continue to develop, but for such large-scale competitions we would need additional resources. In addition to world class facilities, it is necessary to educate the culture of athletics among our citizens. Now, unfortunately, the queen of sports does not have many fans. One of our tasks, as a federation, is to ensure that these competitions are really hosted and cheered for in a royal way," Olga Rypakova said.
The representative of World Athletics called the Qazaqstan sports complex a fantastic facility. And foreign athletes highly appreciated the presence of a large warm-up area, where the tracks are practically no different from those on which they perform at competitions.
