Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis will take part in the first ever World Indoor Tour Gold series competition in Astana.
The 24-year-old athlete from Sweden, who started participating in international competitions in 2015, has achieved many victories to date. Among them is the gold medal of the Olympic Games held in Tokyo, the title of 2-time World Champion, the title of 3-time winner of the "Diamond League" final and the current 2 World records holder. During his professional career, Armand set the World Record 12 times.
In September of 2023, on the Diamond League final Armand broke the world record he set previously. The athlete reached a height of 6.23 m.
As part of the Astana Indoor Meet, Armand Duplantis will perform in an individual competition in the discipline of pole vaulting.
Another track and field star to watch at the Astana Indoor Meet is Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay. A middle distance runner will compete in the 1 mile discipline.
Gudaf Tsegay is a 2-time World Champion, the winner of the Diamond League final, the World Indoor Champion, and the holder of 2 current World Records.
