1ST MALAYSIAN OPEN GRAND PRIX 2019 FINISHED IN KUALA LUMPUR

The 1st Malaysian Open Grand Prix 2019 track and field athletics competition ended in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), where six Kazakhstani athletes performed.

Earlier it was reported that on the first day of the competition our athletes competed in four disciplines. Results:

1. Ivan Ivanov won the gold medal in the shot put. The athlete set the season record - 19.53 meters.

2. Also in the piggy bank team won a gold medal jumper with a pole, Yaroslav Vislobokova. Its result is 3.65 meters.

3. Young athlete Sergey Sukhov managed to win the bronze medal in the discipline "800 meters". The athlete ran the distance for 1: 51.43

4. In the long jump, Rinat Kaysarov with 7.22 meters was the sixth in the tournament results table.

On the final day of the tournament, on March 31, Christina Ovchinnikova participated in the high jump discipline, and Vadim Levchenkov participated in the 1,500 meters’ race.

1. According to the results of all attempts of our junior to overcome the bar at the height, the final result was recorded - 1.75 m. Due to this, the young athlete became the third and won the bronze medal of the tournament.

2. In the 1500-meter race, Vadim Levchenkov finished third with a score of 4: 04.07.

In total, for two days of competition, Kazakhstani athletes brought 5 medals to the national team's moneybox: 2 gold and 3 bronze. In the team event Kazakhstan occupies the 5th place. Four lines above are Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, and Malaysia.
