ZHASARAL IMANDOSOV: THE TRIP TO SHYMKENT WAS PRODUCTIVE!

Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Athletics Federation Zhasaral Imandosov commented on the results of his working trip to Shymkent.

The development of athletics was the focus of a working visit to Shymkent on May 2 by President of the Kazakhstan Athletics Federation Olga Rypakova and Secretary General Zhasaral Imandosov.

They inspected the full-scale reconstruction of the Kazhymukan Munaitpasov Central Stadium, including how feedback from track and field athletes is being considered. At the specialized youth sports school with athletics and cycling departments, Olga Rypakova and Zhasaral Imandosov met with coaches and their students and took part in the award ceremony for winners and medalists of the Kids Athletics school competition. Later, at a meeting with Shymkent Akim Gabit Syzdykbekov, they discussed the development of athletics and improvements to the city’s sports infrastructure.

“At every meeting, we had concrete, focused discussions,” said Zhasaral Imandosov, Secretary General of the national athletics federation. “It is very important that the Kazhymukan Munaitpasov Central Stadium meets international standards. This matters not only to ensure results achieved here are recognized by World Athletics, the international governing body, but also to make it possible to host the Asian Athletics Championships in the future. Another key point was the discussion on promoting athletics in Shymkent and engaging school students, including through the Kids Athletics program. We felt strong interest and support from various city departments, especially from the city leadership. There are goals and agreements in place. There is understanding and support for the federation’s initiatives to grow the sport.”
