As part of the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes, a press conference was held with the participation of the President of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov, World Athletics delegate Pierce O’Callaghan, Olympic champion Armand Duplantis and the leader of the National Athletics Team of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nadezhda Dubovitskaya.
Within a frame of the press conference, participants answered a number of questions from media representatives.
Olympic champion and 12x World record setter in Pole Vaulting Armand Duplantis, answering the question of whether there is a limit in his discipline and whether it is possible to conquer a height of 7 meters for a man and 6 meters for a woman, answered that “probably not in the nearest future... But as far as the sport is now, the current equipment that we are using now, I think 7 meters is a bit farfetched but I hope I have the best of a chance to do it”.
Kazakhstani athlete, Asian Champion in High Jump Nadezhda Dubovitskaya in her turn spoke about her preparation for the upcoming tournament and her plans to compete at the World Championships.
