WORLD CROSS CHAMPIONSHIP 2019

March 30 in the city of Arhus (Denmark) will be the World Championships in cross-country. In this country, the tournament will be held for the first time in history. Adult athletes and juniors (U-20) will start.

The Danish Athletics Federation is preparing a two-kilometer track around the territory of the Moesgor Museum of Archeology and Ethnography. On each lap, athletes have to climb on the sloping roof of the main building of the museum. According to the organizers of the competition, the total climb on the distance will be 75 meters.

According to the official data of the iaaf.org site, 582 runners from 67 countries of the world will take part in this Championship by preliminary requests.

More than 300 adult athletes (171 men, 139 women) will participate in individual races, and more than 200 (121 men, 111 women) will compete in the U-20 races.

A total of $ 310,000 in prize money will be awarded to World Championship winners.

According to the competition program, athletes will perform in the following disciplines:

Mixed relay, 8 km

U-20 girls, 6 km

Boys U-20, 8 km

Girls, 8 km

Men, 10 km
