KAZAKHSTAN’S ENTRY FOR THE ARZUMANOV MEMORIAL IN TASHKENT

As reported by qazathletics.kz, Kazakhstan has confirmed its lineup for the international track and field competition in Tashkent — the “Gennady Arzumanov Memorial.”

The memorial competition, now in its seventh edition, will be held on June 21–22 in Tashkent in honor of the distinguished Uzbek coach Gennady Arzumanov. Adding to the event’s significance is its bronze-level status within the World Athletics Continental Tour.

Kazakhstan’s entry list includes 17 athletes — those who either personally expressed interest in participating or were entered at the discretion of their coaches.

Competing in Uzbekistan’s capital will be:

Andrey Sokolov (East Kazakhstan region) – 400 meters;
Elnor Mukhitdinov (East Kazakhstan region) – 400 meters;
Alexandra Zalyubovskaya (Pavlodar region) – 200 and 400 meters;
Adelina Zems (Karaganda region) – 400 meters hurdles;
Viktoriya An (Almaty) – 200 meters;
Vitaliy Zems (Karaganda region) – 200 meters;
Dmitriy Koblov (Shymkent) – 400 meters hurdles;
Yuliya Bashmanova (East Kazakhstan region) – 100 meters hurdles;
Elizaveta Matveyeva (East Kazakhstan region) – high jump;
Ivan Ivanov (East Kazakhstan region) – shot put;
Yevgeniy Labutov (Mangystau region) – discus throw;
Yevgeniy Prokudin (Karaganda region) – 110 meters hurdles;
Kristina Ermola (Pavlodar region) – 100 meters hurdles;
Diana Geints (Pavlodar region) – javelin throw;
Yevgeniya Fandyushina (Pavlodar region) – 800 meters;
Elizaveta Volkova (Pavlodar region) – 800 meters;
Nadezhda Bogdanova (Mangystau region) – javelin throw, shot put.
It’s notable that 10 out of the 17 Kazakh athletes listed also competed at the recent Asian Championship held in Gumi, South Korea, from May 27 to 31. Among the men: Andrey Sokolov, Elnor Mukhitdinov, Vitaliy Zems, Ivan Ivanov, and Dmitriy Koblov. Among the women: Alexandra Zalyubovskaya, Adelina Zems, Viktoriya An, Yuliya Bashmanova, and Elizaveta Matveyeva. In other words, for the most part, the same athletes will represent the country again.

As for the remaining seven athletes — four of whom are from the Pavlodar region — they are not exactly new faces either. So far this year, their performances have, at best, met the standard of candidate for master of sport. The exception is hurdler Yevgeniy Prokudin, who has met the master of sport standard in 2025.
