Kazakhstan's Ivan Tovchenik will take part in the 2025 Busan International Pole Vault Meeting on June 14. The men's field is impressive, with 20 athletes from 14 countries.
The Busan International Pole Vault Meeting is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour and holds a fairly high "D" category status.
In Busan, on Saturday, June 14, 20 male athletes from 14 countries will compete: Great Britain, Indonesia, Australia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taipei, Thailand, and the USA.
This year, the best result among the participants belongs to Patsapong Amsam-ang from Thailand, who cleared 5.67 meters. This is the athlete's personal best, achieved in late May at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea. The Thai athlete won bronze at that event.
A jump of 5.62 meters in 2025 belongs to Britain's Charlie Myers. He is a two-time British champion, both outdoors and indoors. American Christian Sampy also cleared 5.62 meters in May.
Two-time Oceania champion Dalton Di Medio from Australia cleared 5.51 meters in May. Japanese athlete Masaki Ajima is also one to watch. He has been a silver medalist at the Asian Championships and a bronze medalist at the World U20 Championships. However, his best result this year is 5.45 meters.
Kazakhstan will be represented at the 2025 Busan International Pole Vault Meeting by Ivan Tovchenik. He is 25 years old and ranked number one in pole vaulting in Kazakhstan, a multiple-time national champion. In February, he cleared 5.20 meters. His personal best is 5.40 meters, achieved in 2021. In general, a tough challenge awaits him in Busan.
