COMPETITION IN BUSAN, POLE VAULT - POLINA IVANOVA'S RIVALS

17 athletes from 9 countries will compete at the 2025 Busan International Pole Vault Meeting, where Kazakhstan's Polina Ivanova will take part.

The Busan International Pole Vault Meeting is a well-known, specialized pole vault competition. It is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour and holds a fairly high "D" category status.

Like the men, the women at the 2025 Busan International Pole Vault Meeting will compete on June 14. The list of participants includes 17 athletes from 9 countries: Australia, Indonesia, India, Iran, Japan, Taipei, Kazakhstan, Korea, and Thailand.

The highest declared result this year belongs to Australia's Olivia Gross, who has cleared 4.35 meters. She is the national champion of her country.

Other favorites include Indonesia's Diva Renatta Jayadi, Japan's Akari Osakaia, and Chayanisa Chomchundi from Thailand. All three are ranked in the top 10 Asian female pole vaulters this year. Jayadi has a best of 4.30 meters, while Osakaia and Chomchundi have both cleared 4.20 meters.

The best result for the 22-year-old athlete from Almaty, Polina Ivanova, is 4.00 meters, achieved in January and February, which matches her personal record set in 2024. In fact, five competitors at the upcoming event in Busan have better results this year than the Kazakhstani athlete. To surpass any of them would already be an achievement.
