Nine Kazakhstani track and field athletes are set to take part in the upcoming 32nd Summer World University Games. The national squad includes two men and seven women.
Athletics competitions at the 32nd Summer World University Games will be held from July 21 to 27 in Bochum, a city in Germany located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Kazakhstani athletics roster includes:
- Kristina Yermola (Pavlodar Region) – 100m and 100m hurdles
- Alexandra Zalyubovskaya (Pavlodar Region) – 200m and 400m
- Elizaveta Matveeva (East Kazakhstan Region) – high jump
- Kristina Ovchinnikova (Karagandy Region) – high jump
- Anastasiya Rypakova (East Kazakhstan Region) – long jump
- Yasmina Toksanbayeva (Almaty) – 20 km race walk
- Alina Chistyakova (Karagandy Region) – heptathlon
- Zelimkhan Nasyrov (Akmola Region) – long jump, triple jump
- Maksim Frolovsky (Almaty) – 1500m and 5000m

With the exception of Yermola and Ovchinnikova, seven of these Kazakhstani athletes competed at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships held in late May in the Korean city of Gumi. The highest placements among them came from Elizaveta Matveeva, Yasmina Toksanbayeva, Zelimkhan Nasyrov, and Alina Chistyakova. Matveeva won a silver medal in the high jump in Gumi. Toksanbayeva claimed bronze in the 20 km race walk. Nasyrov and Chistyakova placed sixth in the triple jump and heptathlon, respectively.
The Kazakhstani athletics team is scheduled to depart for Germany on July 19 and return on July 29.
