- The championship is open to athletes under 18 years old — born in 2008 or later. Interestingly, a third of Team Kazakhstan, 12 athletes, were born in 2009.

- In the girls' individual events, Kazakh athletes will compete in the 100m, 200m, and 800m races, the 100m and 400m hurdles, heptathlon, shot put, javelin, discus, hammer throw, race walking, high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

- Each country is allowed to register no more than two athletes per event. In most of the disciplines Kazakhstan is entering, two athletes will represent the country.

- The youngest members of Team Kazakhstan are long jumper Milena Mertz from Almaty (born October 16, 2009), high jumper Olga Izyumnikova from Shymkent (born October 17, 2009), and triple jumper Gleb Klepinin, also from Almaty (born November 30, 2009).

- Many Kazakh athletes heading to the 6th Asian Youth Championship were winners at the national indoor championships held in January for athletes born in 2008 or later. Three of them stood out by winning two individual events each: Beibarys Batyruly from Astana triumphed in the 60m and 200m sprints; Ramazan Shaiev from Zhambyl Region won the 1500m and 3000m; and Georgy Kozma from Karaganda Region came out on top in the 60m hurdles and triple jump.
