ASIAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS – PRINCE NAYEF SPORTS CITY STADIUM

A total of 37 Kazakh athletes will compete at the upcoming 6th Asian U18 Athletics Championships.

The Kazakhstan Athletics Federation initially registered 38 athletes to compete at the upcoming 6th Asian U18 Athletics Championships. However, after the girls’ pole vault event was officially removed from the program, one athlete had to be withdrawn from the team, as she was entered exclusively in that discipline.

In addition, up until the very day of departure, there was uncertainty surrounding the participation of Vadim Pisotsky from Shymkent. He was initially denied visa support and had to apply for a visa independently. Fortunately, he did receive his visa in time and will also be competing at the championships, as confirmed to Qazathletics.kz by Pavel Kukin, Sports Director of the Kazakhstan Athletics Federation.

Pisotsky is entered in the shot put and discus throw events.

The 6th Asian U18 Athletics Championships will take place from April 15 to 18 in Dammam, a port city in Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf. The competition is open to athletes under the age of 18 — born in 2008 or later.

Kazakhstan will be represented by 37 athletes in total — 21 boys and 16 girls — competing across track, jumping (long jump, high jump, triple jump), and all throwing events (discus, javelin, hammer, and shot put).
